Groovy ("we", "us") is a running-moments app that lets you capture and
share the moments of your runs. This policy explains what we collect,
why, and the choices you have. Questions:

Information we collect
- Account & profile — your name, optional Instagram handle, and email (via Apple, Google, or email sign-in).
- Photos you capture — the images you take in the app, plus any note you add.
- Location — coarse and, during a run, background location to track your route and tag where a moment happened. You can decline this.
- Contacts — only if you choose "Find friends"; used on-device to match people you know. We do not upload your address book.
- Spotify — if you connect it, the currently-playing track to attach to a moment. We never see your password.
- Waitlist — if you join from our website, your email address.
- Usage & device data — basic diagnostics to keep the app working and fix crashes.
How we use it
- To provide the core experience: capturing, mapping, and sharing your moments.
- To connect you with friends and group runs you choose to join.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and comply with the law.
- To let you know when we launch (waitlist only).
Storage & third parties
Your data is stored with Supabase (our backend and
database provider) and processed only to run Groovy. We use
Apple and Google for sign-in and
Spotify for the now-playing feature, each under their
own privacy terms. We do not sell your personal data.
Sharing
Moments you post to a group wall are visible to members of that group.
Anything you choose to share is shared at your direction. Otherwise your
content is private to you.
Your rights & choices
- Delete your account — Settings → "Delete account" permanently removes your account and associated data from our servers.
- Block & report — you can block any user and report content; we review reports promptly.
- Permissions — camera, location, contacts, and notifications are all optional and can be changed in your device settings.
- Access — request a copy of your data by emailing us.
Children
Groovy is rated 4+ but intended for users 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the date above.
